MarieFaith Lane is a violinist, educator and communications professional with a passion for teaching, research and collaboration. She serves as communications manager at the CU Boulder College of Music, where she strengthens community engagement through storytelling and connection. As a performer, Lane has appeared across North America and Asia, leading ensembles and collaborating with emerging artists. She is a recipient of the Dairy Arts Center鈥檚 30 Under 30 Award and has held competitive fellowships with the Boulder Bach Festival and the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music.
Lane鈥檚 research bridges music, medicine and education, reflecting her commitment to music as a tool for social impact. She has presented at national and international conferences, including the American String Teachers Association Conference, the International Research Symposium on Talent Education and the Tennessee Music Education Association. She co-authored an article in the 鈥淪tring Research Journal鈥 with Vanderbilt University鈥檚 Zachary Ebin titled 鈥淒oes the Bow Fit: Using Anthropometry and Grip Strength to Assess Fractional-Size Violin Bows,鈥 which explores the use of anthropometric and grip strength measurements to design better-suited fractional-size violin bows for children.
She holds an Artist Diploma in solo violin performance from CU Boulder, where she studied with Alex Gonzalez and served as his graduate teaching assistant. She also earned a master鈥檚 degree in violin performance and pedagogy from CU Boulder, studying with Tak谩cs Quartet violinists Harumi Rhodes and Edward Dusinberre, and graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University with bachelor鈥檚 degrees in violin performance and medicine, health and society. She is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at Boston University under the mentorship of Lucia Lin, violinist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
