Introduction

The Raimy Psychology Clinic at the University of Colorado (CU) was founded in 1960 and has been providing affordable psychological treatment to the Boulder County area for over 60 years, serving CU students, faculty, staff, and members of the broader community. We provide low-cost intervention for depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, academic and social stressors, and other areas of distress. Services are available for individual adults, but Raimy also has less frequent openings for couples, children, and adolescents.

The advantages of a training clinic

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado maintains the Raimy Clinic as a training site for graduate students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program. Graduate student therapists provide clinical services under careful supervision of licensed psychologists and other experienced mental health professionals. Our students are being trained in evidence-based approaches to psychotherapy treatment. This means that we integrate the best available research with clinical expertise, considering the unique needs, identities, and preferences of our clients, to develop effective and compassionate treatment goals.

Because of the training function of the Clinic, we offer psychological services at substantially reduced fees. We are also committed to providing services to those who are currently underserved, including economically disadvantaged, ethnic, and sexual and gender minorities.

How do I get connected to care at the clinic?

Get in touch! If you are interested in obtaining therapeutic services at the Raimy Clinic, contact the Clinic Coordinator at 303-492-5177 or email raimy@colorado.edu.

When you contact the clinic, we will speak with you for approximately 15 to 30 minutes to provide more information about the clinic and gather basic details about the type of help you are seeking. If it seems like the clinic is a good fit for your needs, we will schedule intake sessions for you, which are free of charge. During the intake process, you will complete questionnaires and an interview with one of our clinicians. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn more about our clinic and what we offer, and for us to get to know you better and understand the type of assistance you are seeking. After the intake process, if the Raimy Clinic continues to be a good fit to support your needs, we will work with you to develop a treatment plan to help meet your mental health needs.
